Implement the proposal for a small-scale research project that was developed in ED5094. The research will be conducted and written up independently, with guidance and advice from the research advisor or advisors. The dissertation will be 10,000 - 12,000 words of text (or equivalent)excluding references and appendices. The dissertation will clearly define a topic, provide a rationale, set the proposed research in context of appropriate literature, describe methods for generating, gathering and analysing research data and discuss methodological issues associated with those methods. The dissertation will present the data generated as part of the research project, and a discussion of that data, in an appropriate format. The dissertation shall draw conclusions and implications from the research (including as appropriate, implications for theory, practice and further research), relate findings and conclusions to relevant literature, and offer a critical estimate of the significance and limitations of the small-scale research project. Two, independent academic examiners will examine the research dissertation and successful completion of this subject may lead to higher degree by research study.
