Practice-led research is a process where creative practice drives the development of research endeavours, and involves the production of a creative work and an exegesis that links the creative work to a wider body of research. This subject offers students skills in the diverse approaches to practice-led research methodology and positions practice-led approaches in an Australian context. Students reflect on how their own creative practice in media and writing - including the production of novels, short stories, creative nonfiction, scripts, poetry, digital stories, short films, as well as other creative and journalistic writing - relates to wider theoretical concepts.
Learning Outcomes
- develop an understanding of practice-led research methodology;
- develop skills in self-reflexivity;
- be able to articulate research questions that drive creative practice;
- understand the production of a creative work informed by research;
- be able to present exegetical writing that links current practice with a wider body of research.
