This subject examines advanced topics related to the impact and applications of social media and related Web2.0/3.0 technologies on business with particular focus on entrepreneurship, e-marketing and human resource management. Collective intelligence technology and social networking applications will be examined to explore how these technologies can facilitate creativity and collective intelligence through enhanced information sharing and online collaboration. Students will gain skills and experience using linked data and social media applications to increase profit, manage well-being , enable business processes and functions and explore new business models.
Learning Outcomes
- identify and critically evaluate state-of-the-art collective intelligence and social network technologies and applications;
- compare and evaluate different business models supported by collective intelligence and social networks;
- analyse business impacts of collective intelligence and social network technologies;
- examine the legal, ethical and social issues related to collective intelligence and social network;
- identify new business opportunities and challenges of collective intelligence and social network.
