This subject is a study of place and location in contemporary film and screen media, including textual, social, and industrial aspects. Lectures examine settings and locations in films, and the social geography of film viewing and production.
Learning Outcomes
- to develop an awareness of filmic techniques for transmitting meaning;
- to develop an understanding of relations of image and narrative in film;
- to distinguish social, industrial and artistic elements of screen media;
- to gain awareness of relevant theoretical literature.
