This subject is intended to develop students' knowledge of marketing concepts, tools and decision making processes within sustainable marketing management activity. It will also develop students' ability to apply this knowledge to a diverse range of complex marketing management decisions in relation to products, services, governmental, not-for-profit and social marketing sectors.
Learning Outcomes
- examine the scope, complexity and principle functions within marketing management and the way these differ across market sectors;
- develop and justify a marketing plan, including product / service management, pricing, promotional and distribution objectives, strategies, tactics and overall coordination and control systems and performance evaluation mechanisms;
- explain the ways in which objectives, strategies and tactics differ according to market sector, including consumer-focussed products and services, the business-to-business sector, governmental, not-for-profit and social marketing activity;
- communicate well reasoned and justified recommendations clearly and concisely; work both independently and in groups;
- conduct a situation analysis, including market and competitor analysis, drawing on industry and academic material and conduct market potential forecasts and profitability analyses, synthesising information from multiple sources.
