The subject presents empirical approaches to understanding maladaptive mental processes and behaviour, psychosocial disorders, and dysfunctions in all age groups. The primary focus is upon major areas of psychological dysfunction, as well as problems of diagnosis and assessment. Clinical aspects related to symptoms, aetiology, etc. and theories and research findings will be presented from an integrative perspective that emphasizes multi-factorial rather than uni-factorial approaches to understanding psychological disorders.
