Available to students who have been awarded a degree in Physiotherapy or its equivalent.
Students in this subject will commence a research project on a topic to be agreed between the student and the Postgraduate Coordinator (Physiotherapy), carried out under the supervision of a supervisor from the Discipline of Physiotherapy. Students will learn skills in data collection, analysis and scientific writing.
Learning Outcomes
- students will demonstrate and advanced skills to review and critically appraise literature relevant to the chosen research topic;
- students will design and undertake research in a systematic and scientific manner, to apply research methods appropriate to the field of study in which the research project is situated, and to implement the procedures necessary to ensure that research is conducted in an ethical manner appropriate to the research area;
- students will demonstrate advanced skills in analysis of the data collected and extraction of logical conclusions from the research results;
- students will apply research methods appropriate to the field of study in which the research project is situated;
- students will ensure that research is conducted in an ethical manner;
- students will communicate the research findings using advanced written, oral and presentation communication skills.
