THIS SUBJECT COMMENCES IN 2013. Enrolment in this subject is for students enrolled in the physiotherapy honours program.
This subject is the first of 2 clinical practice subjects which are designed to set the foundation for learning experiences within health settings. This subject is made up of three 5 week placements in different discipline areas selected from the mandatory placements of Acute Care, Neuro/Rehabilitation, Musculo-skeletal Physiotherapy, Rural and Electives. The total of 15 weeks of supervised clinical experience will be conducted in clinical settings in a range of public and private health care facilities throughout Queensland and interstate. Students will be required to engage in self-directed learning through the development of an ePortfolio relevant to their clinical experience, to critique their performance in all aspects of service delivery and display the proactive pursuit of professional development which is the cornerstone of a professional career as a Physiotherapist.
