Students are introduced to a range of research methods and forms of representation of new knowledge, including text, visual, sonic and other formats. Research within the creative and new media arts is considered in terms of individual practice as well as intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations. In addition to developing core research skills appropriate to practice, pure and/or applied research in the creative and new media arts, students pursue an individual or group research project and present their findings in the appropriate format and context.
Learning Outcomes
- examine the range of research methodologies relevant to the creative and new media arts;
- identify appropriate methodologies and formats for response to a research question or questions;
- explicate the research process and findings within a chosen practical or theoretical project.
