Advanced concepts in e-security including analysis of strength of cryptographic protocols, trust management over the internet, authentication and network security threats and defences. Treatment of legal and ethical issues associated with technical issues in e-security.

Learning Outcomes

• analyse and evaluate strengths of secure protocols;
• evaluate networking threats at both LAN and internet levels;
• analyse and explain defensive methods in e-security;
• analyse and explain the legal and ethical issues involved in E-Security including scope of liability and digital rights management;
• apply advanced research skills to develop a research study.
