In this subject students are introduced to fundamental principles and practices of computer programming. Students commence work on industry certifications including application scoping, wireframes, prototyping, testing, and debugging. Key topics covered are problem-solving techniques, Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) programming, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) design principles, and object-oriented programming fundamentals.
Learning Outcomes
- apply fundamental application development skills in a modern programming environment;
- describe relevant programming that support software development practices;
- examine the historical development of programming languages and programming environments;
- develop and utilize best-practice clean coding techniques;
- adopt self-learning with modern on-line information support resources.
