This subject will provide students from all disciplines with the knowledge required to use information technology effectively. It introduces students to techniques for collecting, organizing and disseminating information using the Internet and multimedia. Ethics, security, privacy issues relating to the use of IT will be discussed.
Learning Outcomes
- understand the fundamental concepts in data communications and Internet;
- understand the ethical, security and privacy issues in using information technologies;
- understand the basics of computer hardware and software;
- apply multimedia technologies and tools for information dissemination.
