This subject develops a framework for understanding financing and managing the resources of a business. It examines crucial decisions such as capital project evaluation and capital structure. It explores the logic of finance through studying the foundational concepts of risk and return and the time value of money in different contexts. Emphasis is on meshing theory with practical applications to reflect recent developments in finance. Specific knowledge areas include: discounted cash flow valuation, modern portfolio theory, the cost of capital, dividend policy and options.
