In addition to meeting the requirement to have completed a minimum of 36 credit points of BU or BX subjects and enrolled in your last year of your course, students wishing to undertake the multidisciplinary project subject must submit an application on InPlace - https://inplace.jcu.edu.au. Use your jc user name and password to log on. Details of the projects available can be found on this site. This process only applies to students enrolled on the Townsville or Cairns campus. This subject is not available to students enrolled externally.
This subject enables final year students from the Business, Law and Information Technology disciplines to work together to design, implement, and evaluate a real life project sourced from industry partner organisations. Identification of suitable projects occurs through collaboration between the College and industry partner organisations. Students work in groups of up to six and it is expected that each student allocate at least 10 hrs per week to the project over a 13 week period. Students must have completed a minimum 36 credit points of BU or BX subjects and be enrolled in their final year of study. Students can self enrol in the Multidisciplinary Project subject but must also submit an application on InPlace. Students can log into InPlace using their jc user name and password to view detailed project information by following the Multidisciplinary Project links. This process only applies to students enrolled on the Townsville or Cairns campus. External students are not eligible to enrol in BU3102 Multidisciplinary Project.
Learning Outcomes
- Apply classroom knowledge and skills gained throughout the degree to solve complex and real world industry issues and produce a large scaled project outcome;
- Evaluate the complexity of working across different discipline areas and contrast and evaluate the relationships between various sectors of professional industry;
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, in particular in a large scale cross-disciplinary team and where required effectively manage and lead a team.
