SL4006 - Speech Pathology Professional Project B

Credit points: 03
Year: 2014
Student Contribution Band: Band 2
Administered by: Sch Public Health,Trop Medicine&Rehabilitation Sc (pre 2015)

Enrolment in this subject is restricted to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology.

This subject follows on from SL4005 Speech Pathology Professional Projects A as student groups continue to develop and complete their clinical projects. As part of SL4005, students identified and justified a clinical need and begun to plan and develop a project to fulfil this clinical need. This was achieved through consultation with key stakeholders (e.g. speech pathology clinicians, speech pathology service managers, academic speech pathologists, other healthcare workers, patients/clients, parents, carers, teachers, the general public, etc) and also through searching, appraisal and review of current available sources of information relevant to the project topic. In SL4006, the focus is on students completing their final project 'product', disseminating the outcomes of their project to the speech pathology community, and reflecting on their project in relation to principles of Evidence-Based Practice and the Competency-Based Occupational Standards for Speech Pathology (CBOS 2011).
