An independent course of study in which students will demonstrate an advanced and integrated knowledge (including recent research developments) of one specialised area of physiology. Students will investigate, review, critically analyse and consolidate scientific literature and synthesise a literature review on an assigned topic. The topic area for this subject will be developed in consultation with the subject coordinator. Literature reviews of 7,500 - 12,000 words will present a coherent and sustained argument/opinion, synthesising complex information, concepts and theories. Students will be required to demonstrate autonomy, initiative, planning and decision making skills in the preparation of literature reviews. This subject is consistent with AQF level 9.
