This subject covers foundational concepts for management in a health care context, including strategic planning, change management, resource management and quality enhancement. These basic management concepts can be applied across a variety of health care settings and contexts, including application in the student's own workplace and also consideration of management system failures in other national/international contexts.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate problem-solving in the management arena;
- analyse the principles of management in the areas of personnel and resource management;
- analyse changes necessary in the students workplace for effective management of staff and resources.
