NS5116 - Advanced Midwifery Care

This subject has been written to meet the needs of registered midwives and postgraduate midwifery students. The subject focuses on the delivery of advanced midwifery care to the birthing family. Issues such as the delivery of rural and remote midwifery care and Indigenous midwifery care will be explored in depth. The learning experience will be directed via readings, activities, critical thinking exercises and case studies.

Learning Outcomes

• further develop critical thinking, reflective and analytical skills;
• demonstrate an advanced level of evidence-based midwifery knowledge;
• demonstrate a holistic, comprehensive and contemporary knowledge base concerning rural and Indigenous birthing/midwifery issues.

NS5112 and NS5113 and NS5114 and NS5115 and NS5214 and NS5220 - ALLOW CONCURRENT FOR NS5214
