<p>This subject aims to introduce the registered nurse and other health care professionals to the process of building a portfolio in the context of continuing professional development and NMBA registration standards. As practising nurses, students will explore topics including learning styles and reflective practice as a basis for life-long learning guided by competency standards. Throughout the subject, students will compile their own professional portfolio based on subject content applied to their area of expertise.</p>

<li>demonstrate an appreciation for the different types, purposes and assessments of portfolios; </li>
<li>describe the importance of continuing professional development, life-long leaning, reflection and self-assessment; </li>
<li>apply the principles of portfolio development to produce a personal portfolio. </li>
