In this subject students explore the theoretical concepts of person, health, environment and caring as they relate to nursing. A primary focus of this subject is developing an awareness of the health status of the individual, the family and the community. In nursing skills laboratories, opportunities are provided to develop and consolidate foundational clinical skills used in assessment and intervention when caring for persons requiring assistance with activities of living.
