This subject introduces the basic elements of design, effective visualisation and communication, thereby providing students with fundamental principles of graphic design for new media. Manual and digital tools are used as the basis for ideas formulation and testing for digital media projects. The history of Australian graphic design and contemporary practice is explored through a team-based investigative research project.
Learning Outcomes

- using the appropriate language of visual communication, demonstrated ability to critique individual design projects for their aesthetic and functional effectiveness;
- demonstrated understanding of the fundamental principles of graphic design for new media.
