This subject is based on the student developing a personal portfolio of work in an appropriate form that emphasises sculptural and spatial principles, for example, models and maquettes, or an artist's book with focus on 3D elements, or similar. The art works are developed in concert with a digital visual diary or research journal and a display of this work in the studio at the end of the semester. The construction of work in visual media and form can be set against integrative experiences, such as potential interactions with image, sound and movement.
Learning Outcomes
- production, backup/storage/retrieval and presentation techniques;
- understanding of spatial issues related to visual arts in the area of new media and sculpture theory;
- proficiency in aspects of the design process and ability to test ideas through art production;
- demonstrated skills suitable for 2D/3D application in the production of models, maquettes, installations or book arts.
