Available to postgraduate students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Science, Graduate Diploma of Science, Graduate Diploma of Research Methods, Master of Applied Science, Graduate Certificate of Development Practice, Graduate Diploma of Development Practice, Master of Science and Master of Development Practice and to undergraduates under special circumstances, subject to approval by Head of School.
Independent study and/or research devoted to a topic not covered in the coursework relevant to the Schools postgraduate program. The subject and assessment will be developed in consultation with, and supervised by, a member of staff of the School of Marine & Tropical Biology, with approval from the Head of School or nominee.
Learning Outcomes
- acquire proficiency in literature evaluation and/or data collection and analysis;
- develop skills in preparing and presenting written technical reports and/or oral presentations;
- develop the practical skills required for carrying out a research project;
- enhance knowledge and understanding of a specified area of biology;
- gain experience in problem-solving and scientific decision-making.
