This subject will equip students to engage in research and writing in the field of conflict management and resolution. Students will develop advanced research skills in this multi-disciplinary field, and will develop literacy in a range of research methodologies (e.g. quantitative, qualitative, case studies) and tools (e.g. surveys, interviews, online databases, computer based research software) relevant to conflict management and resolution. Students will develop an understanding of the role and use of research in conflict intervention work. Students will also develop advanced writing skills for different audiences in conflict management and resolution (e.g. research proposals, annotated bibliography, literature review, journal articles, advice to clients, reflective journals, plans and reports). This subject is essential for students who plan to complete a research project, or to progress to higher degree research studies in the field of conflict management and resolution.
