Students will explore different types of educational assessment and evaluation tools. Discuss factors that influences the reliability and validity of assessment and evaluation tools.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain the nature, purpose and principles of effective educational assessment and standard setting;
- Describe and apply different theories, models and methods of evaluation in the health context;
- Explain and apply different types of educational assessment including authentic assessment;
- Compare and contrast a variety of approaches to assessment including self, peer and co-assessment and learning agreements;
- Review and apply evaluation techniques for students, teachers and courses.
