This subject explores a range of approaches to the writing of history. It focuses on the changing trends in historical writing from the 1970s to the present.
Learning Outcomes
- to become familiar with contemporary historiographical debates;
- to develop skills in the organisation and expression of research findings appropriate to the honours level of study;
- to gain an appreciation of the diversity of interpretative and theoretical perspectives available to the historian.
