Students will learn advanced writing skills with a guest writer in a particular genre. Skills may include honing literary techniques such as the use of metaphor; how to create better dialogue; employing descriptive imagery and writing place. The flexibility of form including plot development may also be studied.
Learning Outcomes
- the ability to apply literary critical skills;
- the ability to write creatively;
- develop a command of a range of writing styles and the critical ability to choose between them;
- the capacity to apply sophisticated writerly techniques in order to express material in a concise and engaging way.
