This subject introduces the Egan Skilled Helper model of problem management and opportunity development. The application of counselling theories within this model will be investigated. Students will develop their understanding of the practical application of the model. The core micro skills used in interviewing and counselling will be introduced and practiced.
Learning Outcomes
- describe, apply and evaluate Egan's skilled helper model of problem management and opportunity development;
- apply counselling theories within the Egan's skilled helper model;
- develop knowledge and application of core micro skills essential for interviewing and counselling.
