This subject examines contemporary issues in Early Childhood education and care, and how our ways of knowing impact on our understanding of and interacting with these issues. Topics taken from research and media may include: child development and pedagogy; gender; inclusivity; childhood; brain research; and policy.
Learning Outcomes
- critically evaluate contemporary issues in the field of early childhood education;
- critically reflect on the ways that contemporary issues impact on beliefs and professional practice;
- explore possibilities for reconceptualising early childhood policy and practice.
