Available only to students enrolled in the Graduate Diploma of Education [33506P O 33506], must be completed with or prior to ED5218.

The subject will explore fundamentals of and current debates in curriculum design and specifically develop understandings of the central concepts of the discipline areas of English, Maths and Science and Technology. The subject will include investigation of the rationale for each subject area, the nature and design of the curriculum frameworks in each area including examples from Queensland and international jurisdictions. The subject will develop key learning area specific lesson and unit planning, assessment and teaching strategies appropriate for Years 1 -7. Preservice teachers will be involved in practical activities that will enable them to teach and integrate concepts with other Key Learning Areas.
