This subject introduces students to the fundamentals, basic theory, and practice of digital photography. It provides an introduction to the history of photography and the progression of the photographic form to current digital processes. Students learn the practical use of digital SLR cameras and accessories. It is especially useful to students who need a basic level of photographic skills as an adjunct to their major area of study. Students studying journalism, sciences, anthropology, archaeology, tourism or media related courses find this a useful subject, as will any student with an interest in improving their photographic skills and understanding.
