Advanced concepts in e-security including analysis of strength of cryptographic protocols, trust management over the internet, authentication and network security threats and defences. Treatment of legal and ethical issues associated with technical issues in e-security.

Learning Outcomes

• ability to analyse strengths of secure protocols;
• advance understanding of networking threats at both LAN and internet levels;
• advanced knowledge of defensive methods in e-security;
• knowledge of legal and ethical issues including scope of liability and digital rights management.
