This subject builds on the content introduced in BM1051 Anatomy and Physiology for Speech Pathology 1. This subject will comprise a detailed study of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology. Students will study the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, with particular emphasis on the role of the central and peripheral nervous systems in speech and language. Students will be given the opportunity to develop an integrated understanding of the human body with practical sessions, including the study of prosected human specimens, models, images and medical imaging, to facilitate the integration of material and the correlation to practice.
