Available only to students enrolled in Graduate Certificate of Science, Graduate Diploma of Science, majoring in Aquaculture with permission of the program coordinator, Graduate Certificate of Development Practice, Graduate Diploma of Development Practice, Master of Science or Masters of Development Practice.
Course developed with staff of placement institution to provide the best experience for the student.
Learning Outcomes
- to develop an appreciation of the factors required for successful aquaculture production;
- to develop the practical skills required for aquaculture production;
- to develop the skills required for working as part of a small production team;
- to give students first hand experience of a commercial/institutional aquaculture operation;
- to produce students better equipped for employment in the aquaculture industry.
| Assumed Knowledge: | Students enrolling in this subject should have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (eg marine biology, biology or aquaculture) or have acquired equivalent knowledge through other study or industry experience. They should have an excellent understanding of science subjects including basic biology, chemistry, aquaculture and statistics. |
