This subject studies the values and ethics which underpin professional practice in social work and community welfare, in the context of social and moral philosophy.
Learning Outcomes
- ability to analyse value conflicts and ethical dilemmas in order to identify ethical professional action;
- knowledge and understanding of the values, principles and standards of practice articulated in the professional codes of ethics;
- understanding of alternative philosophical perspectives on the nature of ethics.
