This subject aims to prepare students to work with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by providing them with culturally appropriate skills and frameworks for practice. Students will be encouraged to develop a critical awareness of distinctive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander approaches to community work and helping processes.

Learning Outcomes

• demonstrate an ability to work with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;
• to have a critical appreciation of the skills and frameworks integral to social welfare practice with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Assumed Knowledge:	To undertake this subject, students must have successfully completed 12 credit points (four subjects) of level 1 study at tertiary level
Prerequisites:	To undertake this subject, students must have successfully completed 12 credit points (four subjects) of level 1 study at tertiary level OR (admitted to course code 103804 and has successfully completed WS5516)
