Basic principles of interfacility care will be reviewed and form the contextual environment for the subject. Specific areas of paediatric and neonatal clinical care likely to be encountered in the secondary retrievals environment will be examined in detail. There will also be a focus on the impact of the aeromedical environment on patients, procedures and equipment. The subject will provide students with not just the knowledge needed to provide paediatric and neonatal care in the aeromedical environment, but also knowledge of the evidence and theory underpinning these constructs.
