This subject provides students with the knowledge required to successfully provide clinical care in the adult secondary (interfacility) retrieval setting. Basic principles of interfacility care will be reviewed and form the contextual environment for the subject. Specific areas of clinical care likely to be encountered in the secondary retrievals environment will be examined in detail. There will also be a focus on the impact of the aeromedical environment on patients, procedures and equipment. The subject will provide students with not just the knowledge needed to provide patient care, but also knowledge of the evidence and theory underpinning these constructs.
