Registered Australian Physiotherapist. Completion of an overseas recognised physiotherapy qualification. Completion of this subject within the degree Masters of Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy) will not enable Australian registration of overseas qualified physiotherapists.

Students will learn to critically appraise and analyse research publications. This will include consideration of issues related to selection of outcome measures, establishing reliability, validity and reproducibility, selection of appropriate methodology and statistical analysis, bias and ethical issues.

Learning Outcomes

• demonstrate skills to retrieve and appraise relevant research in the health and rehabilitation fields;
• deconstruct published research using systematic analysis and evaluation of the findings in the context of current rehabilitation practice and best practice;
• demonstrate an understating of clinical guidelines, policies and frameworks and their impact for the provision of rehabilitation.
