The purpose of this subject is to establish an understanding of the meaning and concept of occupation and to be able to apply an occupational perspective to human situations. Students will engage with the occupational therapy community and identify the foundational processes that underpin occupational therapy practice for enabling change.

Assessment:end of semester exam (50%); assignments (50%).
Special Assessment Requirements:Students must provide evidence of a current senior first aid and CPR certificate by Friday of week 12 in study period 1. All assessment materials must be submitted to pass the subject. A grade of 40% or more on the final examination must be achieved to pass the subject overall. Attendance at tutorials and workshops is compulsory. Students will be required to conduct an interview as part of the assessment requirements for this subject.
