This subject aims to provide nursing students with an introduction to the concepts of clinical leadership and management within complex working environments.
Learning Outcomes
- outline the theories and principles that underpin nursing practice in leadership and management roles including a focus on clinical governance;
- demonstrate an understanding of managing resources in health care service deliverey;
- apply the principles of effective change management;
- examine patient safety, quality and risk management as core elements of effective health care service delivery;
- practice and consolidate clinical skills acquired in the subjects Clinical Practice 1-4 while reflecting on the influence of different styles of clinical leadership and management in contemporary Australian health care services.
