This subject aims to provide nursing students with a broad introduction to the many different specialty areas of nursing practice in Northern Australia.

Learning Outcomes

• describe the role of the nurse in a multidisciplinary team;
• describe the role of the nurse in the preparatoin and planning of care for patients in speciality areas;
• demonstrate an understanding of the importance of utilising appropriate clinical assessment knowledge within a speciality area;
• demonstrate appropriate interventions/care in nursing practice within a speciality area;
• identify information and communication technology used in speciality areas.
