This subject will focus on equipping students with the analytical skills necessary to deal with conflict and dispute situations. Students will undertake critical analysis of a range of conflict and dispute situations in order to develop a deeper level of understanding of the processes of conflict analysis and the selection of appropriate conflict interventions and management strategies.
Learning Outcomes
- describe a range of theories relating to the field of conflict analysis and resolution;
- explain why conflict occurs and what characteristics make conflict prone to resolution;
- apply theoretical concepts to practical problems;
- analyse a range of conflicts and distinguish the strengths and limitations of different conflict analysis frameworks;
- develop techniques and a comprehensive framework to assess complex conflicts. Compare various intervention strategies of conflict resolution.
