LB5207 - Managing Entrepreneurial Enterprises

Credit points: 03
Year: 2013
Student Contribution Band: Band 3
Administered by: School of Business

Developing entrepreneurial enterprises and innovative businesses is very different to managing large established businesses. Entrepreneurship is a way of looking at business that is focused on opportunities, creativity and innovation. It is about having a passion for doing things that are important for you and the success of your enterprise. In addition to exploring the special advantages associated with entrepreneurial small and medium enterprises, the subject will bring together the skills you have acquired across other disciplines previously studied, including finance, management, marketing and international business. In this subject, you will develop the skills to recognise commercial opportunities and the insight, self-esteem, and knowledge to act on them. It includes a discussion on opportunity recognition, commercialising a concept, marshalling resources, managing people and marketing your products in the face of risk, and initiating a new business enterprise.
