Students wishing to undertake the legal placement subject must be in the final year of their law degree. To apply for acceptance in a placement students need to enrol in the Professional Internship Work Group located on Career Hub. To gain access and enrol in the Work Group send an email to karina.lynch@jcu.edu.au. The Work Group for this subject is located on Career Hub https://careerhub.jcu.edu.au. Use your jc user name and password to log onto the site. The Work Group you are enrolled in will be listed on the left hand column of the Career Hub Home page under Appointments and ePortfolio. The application form on the site must be completed no later than four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of the study period. The process will register your interest in the subject only and does not guarantee a place, as places are limited. Once registered a selection process takes place and you will be advised of the outcome by email.
This subject allows students to gain insights into and practical experience in professional legal practice. The subject allows students to make the necessary links between the theory and practice of law, builds upon their practical legal skills, develops reflective practice skills and allows students to develop an understanding of the legal profession.
Learning Outcomes
