Students will explore different types of educational assessment tools. Discuss factors that influences the reliability and validity of assessment tools.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain the nature and purpose of an educational assessment;
- Explain the different types of educational assessments (with examples): summative, formative, criterion referenced, norm-referenced and competency-based;
- Compare and contrast a variety of approaches to assessment;
- Discuss the issues to be considered in assessing the learners at the appropriate levels;
- Discuss the influencing factors on reliability and validity of educational assessment.
