The subject will demonstrate how to research Australian local history, using North Queensland topics as examples. Students will learn skills in oral history, document and photograph interpretation, using archives and research libraries, and using material historical remains.

    Assessment:quizzes or tests (10%); major research essay (60%); research portfolio (30%).
    Special Assessment Requirements:Attendance on all six days is required for successful completion of the subject. The major assignment is due 2 months after face to face teaching has finished.
