Available to Level 4 Bachelor of Applied Science students who have successfully fulfilled requirements for entry into the Aquaculture Honours program.
Review of the literature pertinent to the field of the approved Honours research project, including a critical appraisal of the objectives, methodologies, and results of previous research relating to the topic; and a seminar presenting the aims, plan, timetable, budget, and justification for the Honours research project.
Learning Outcomes
- to acquire competence in evaluating contributions, of both a general and specific nature, to the literature in a prescribed field;
- to apply experience and skills gained during undergraduate years for literature searches in an effective way, including use of library aids and modern technology;
- to become meticulous in writing, especially with regard to factual accuracy and presentation of citations, references, bibliographics, etc;
- to develop the ability to coherently synthesise, concisely review and critically discuss material from the scientific literature.
