Available to students who have been awarded a degree in Speech Pathology or its equivalent, are eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, are registered with the Speech Pathologists Board of Queensland, and have approval of the Head of School.
This subject is the third of four subjects (the others being SL4511, SL4512 and SL4514) that constitute the Bachelor of Speech Pathology Honours (graduate entry) in the Discipline of Speech Pathology when studied part time. Students in this subject will commence a research project on a topic to be agreed between the student and the Honours Coordinator (Speech Pathology), carried out under the supervision of a supervisor from within the Discipline of Speech Pathology.
Learning Outcomes
- students will acquire and demonstrate the ability to review and critically appraise literature relevant to the chosen research topic;
- students will acquire and demonstrate the ability to design and undertake research in a systematic and scientific manner, to apply research methods appropriate to the field of study in which the research project is situated, and to implement the procedures necessary to ensure that research is conducted in an ethical manner appropriate to the research area;
- students will acquire and demonstrate the ability to conduct appropriate analysis of the data collected and extract logical conclusions from the research results.
