Students will develop skills in creating partnerships to enhance occupational engagement through observation, interactions, client-centred interviewing, questioning, collaborative goal setting and consultation, being mindful of the contextual factors that influence occupation. Students will extend and apply foundation skills in interpersonal and written communication, therapeutic use of self, introductory group dynamics, articulating occupational therapy concepts, and professional documentation.

Assessment:presentations (10%); professional reasoning and goal setting (30%); profile (40%); reflection (20%) (60%).
Special Assessment Requirements:All assessment materials must be submitted to pass the subject. Attendance at workshops and placements is compulsory. Students are expected to attend at least 80% of placement and workshops, participate actively and prepare as required for each session. Attendance includes preparing for classes by reading any set notes or readings, and any other preparation specified
